Parkinson’s disease is one of the most crippling illnesses to afflict elderly people. The nerve disorder, which usually arises in men between the ages of 55 to 60, afflicts 20,000 people in Sweden and 500,000 in both Europe and the USA.
With the worldwide figure expected to increase by around 150,000 annually, the treatment market is estimated at around SEK 10.3 billion (USD 1 billion).

Giving hope to
Parkinson’s disease sufferers

NeoPharma was founded in Sweden in 1994 with the aim of commercializing its revolutionary new medicine for the disease.
